Wabtec Expands Transit Business With Two Acquisitions

Wabtec Corporation on Nov. 12 announced that it has acquired Fanox and Kompozitum, positioning the company’s business unit for “long-term profitability growth by expanding its capabilities, product portfolio and customer base.”

Up to $12.17 million of FRA funding will be invested at Napolean, Defiance & Western, Railway Age's 2023 Short Line of the Year, to replace deteriorating and broken rail and ties and expand capacity along the eastern half of the railroad. FRA Awards $2.4B for Rail Improvement Projects

The Federal Railroad Administration (FRA) on Oct. 29 reported that 122 freight and passenger rail improvement projects—including 81 at short lines—across 41 states will share more than $2.4 billion in grant funding

Wabtec: ‘Strong’ 3Q24 Results, ‘Raised, Tightened’ Adjusted EPS Guidance

Wabtec “delivered another strong quarter” for the three months ending Sept. 30, 2024, with continued growth in sales, margin, earnings and operating cash flow, said President and CEO Rafael Santana, who noted during an Oct. 23 financial report that “continued progress on expanding our backlog reinforces our ability to drive profitable growth ahead, consistent with our long-term guidance.”

Wabtec on Oct. 21 reported that it will supply Evolution Series ES44ACi locomotives to Kazakhstan Temir Zholy (KTZ, Kazakhstan National Railway) under a $405 million agreement.
