Ontario moving subway projects forward

The province of Ontario is providing C$205 million (US$160 million) to help advance work for the Yonge North Subway Extension and the proposed Relief Line to help manage congestion on the Yonge Line in the Toronto area.

Mississauga looks to LRT

The Hurontario Street LRT in Mississauga is expected to provide significantly improved transit for one of Ontario’s largest and fastest growing cities.

Hamilton LRT making progress

The City of Hamilton, Ontario is close to signing an agreement with Metrolinx, the provincial transit agency, for the building of the city’s first LRT line. Construction is scheduled to begin in 2019, with opening by about 2024. Funding approval by the province of up to C$1 billion (Canadian) was announced by Premier Kathleen Wynne in May 2015.
