OCTA chooses HNTB for new streetcar line

California’s Orange County Transportation Authority (OCTA) has appointed HTNB to design a 4.16-mile streetcar line linking Santa Ana Regional Transportation Center, through Downtown Santa Ana and the Civic Center, along a former Pacific Electric Railway right-of-way, to a new multimodal transit hub at Harbor Boulevard and Westminster Avenue in Garden Grove.

Mohr joins HNTB

HNTB Corp. has named Laura Mohr as a Vice President and Rail and Transit Group Director with responsibility for Southern California projects. She is based in Los Angeles.

HNTB names Townes transit market sector leader

Transit industry veteran Michael Townes has joined HNTB Corp. as senior vice president and national transit market sector leader. He is based in the firm’s Arlington, Va., office and works with transit clients across the country, responsible for strategic planning and implementation, industry representation, business development, service delivery, and client satisfaction.

New Mexico Border Authority awards feasibility study to HNTB

The New Mexico Border Authority has selected HNTB Corp. perform a comprehensive study determining the feasibility of a new rail bypass and international rail border crossing near the Santa Teresa, N.Mex., Port of Entry into Mexico. The results of this initial work, if deemed feasible, will guide the state of New Mexico and its associates in developing the new bypass and border crossing.
