Kevin R. Collins joins HNTB

Kevin R. Collins, PE, has joined HNTB Corp. as Project Director and Vice President. Collins brings two decades of transportation industry experience, focusing on delivery of passenger rail projects, including light rail, commuter rail, and streetcar projects, several in excess of $100 million.

Patrick Watz joins HNTB

Patrick Watz, PE, has joined HNTB Corp. as rail transit practice leader and vice president. Watz has more than 21 years of transportation industry experience, including planning, program management, design, construction management, and project controls services for rail transit systems, highways, bridges, and facilities. Watz is based in the firm’s Minneapolis office and serves clients nationwide.

Design team picked for DART Blue Line work

Dallas Area Rapid Transit (DART) has selected Blue Alliance Partners (BAP) as lead designer for the $101 million South Oak Cliff Extension 3 project, an extension of DART’s Blue Line light rail transit system. BAP is a joint venture of HNTB and Dikita Enterprises, Inc.

Team selected for Crenshaw/LAX Transit Corridor

The Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority (Metro) has awarded the design-build contract for the Crenshaw/LAX Transit Corridor Project to Walsh/Shea Corridor Constructors, with HNTB Corp. as lead designer. The Crenshaw/LAX Line will connect Metro’s existing Green Line with the Expo Line and integrate Los Angeles International Airport into the regional rail network.
