The Federal Transit Administration (FTA) on May 7, 2016 issued an “urgent safety directive” to the Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority (WMATA) just one day after the agency released a plan aimed at improving safety and maintenance on its Metrorail system.
OUTFRONT Media Inc., announced on March 24, 2016 the next deployment of its ON Smart Media platform with the Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority (WMATA), expanding the long-term relationship between OUTFRONT and the agency. Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority (WMATA) has named Paul Wiedefeld to become its new General Manager and Chief Executive Officer. Wiedefeld is expected to be formally appointed at WMATA’s Nov. 19 board of directors meeting.
