Wabtec acquires Australia’s C2CE

Wabtec Corp. has acquired C2CE Pty Ltd., a provider of railway signal design services in Australia.

Wabtec acquires Brazilian manufacturer

Wabtec Corp. said Thursday, Aug. 21, 2014 it has acquired Dia-Frag, a manufacturer of friction products based in Monte Alto, Brazil. Dia-Frag has annual sales of about $40 million. Wabtec did not disclose any financial details of acquisition.

Wabtec lands Alaska Railroad PTC contracts

The Alaska Railroad has awarded the Railway Electronics division of Wabtec Corp. $16.6 million worth of contracts to provide PTC (positive train control) equipment and services, including CAD (computer-aided dispatch) and back office systems. The systems will be installed on the railroad’s 525 miles of controlled track, which are used for freight and regularly scheduled passenger service.

Wabtec Corp. early Wednesday, Feb. 19, 2014, reported “record results” in its fourth quarter, including earnings per diluted share of 76 cents. Net income for the fourth quarter was $74 million, up from $64.8 million in the fourth quarter of 2012.

The Maryland Board of Public Works has approved a $13 million contract with Wabtec Corp. subsidiary Wabtec Railway Electronics to install Positive Train Control (PTC) equipment on MARC regional passenger railcars.

Wabtec sets EVP/CFO transition

Wabtec Corp. said Sunday, Oct. 27 , 2013 Patrick D. Dugan has been named executive vice president and chief financial officer effective Jan. 1, 2014. Dugan will succeed Alvaro Garcia-Tunon, who is retiring, though Garcia-Tunon will remain with the company as a strategic adviser.

Wabtec 3Q earnings, sales rise

Wilmerding, Pa.-based Wabtec Corp. reported Thursday, Oct. 24, 2013 third-quarter earnings of $73.9 million, or 76 cents per share, up about 17% from $63 million, or 65 cents per share, in the same period a year ago. Revenue was also up 8% to $631.4 million in the quarter compared with $587.6 million in the third quarter of 2012.
