Trac Intermodal, North America’s largest provider of intermodal marine equipment and biggest chassis pool manager, is adding more than 16,000 new and fully refurbished chassis to its various regional fleets, continuing a major modernization program that began in 2015 “to provide the intermodal industry with ease of access to high-quality equipment.”
TRAC Intermodal is doubling the size of its Mobile Service Unit (MSU) truck fleet “to help accelerate chassis repairs and increase intermodal shipment velocity at key rail ramps across the country,” the company announced in late April.

TRAC Intermodal, one of the nation’s largest intermodal chassis pool managers and equipment suppliers, has lauched two new mobile applications “that improve and simplify customer access to emergency road service and online chassis booking”: TRAC Intermodal’s EZBook 2.0 app; and TRAC Interstar’s road service app, “RoadStar.”

TRAC Intermodal has upgraded EZBook, its web-based portal for daily chassis rentals. The new EZBook 2.0 enhancements “make booking a chassis easier and faster and give the user more control over the entire transaction,” the company claims.
TRAC Intermodal’s Metro Pool chassis fleet, which serves the Port of NY/NJ complex, Philadelphia, Baltimore, New England and western New York State regions, has reached the 30% refurbished level, in “like new” condition with LED lights, and new tires/rims, electrical systems, brakes, airing systems and additional features.
TRAC Intermodal’s TRAC Select is premium chassis pool “fleeted with a wide array of specialty chassis and services to meet specific customer and marketplace needs . . . designed to provide equipment choice to motor carriers, Beneficial Cargo Owners and NVOCCs (non-vessel operating common carriers*).”
