SEPTA tour caps Railway Age/RT&S Light Rail conference

Following the Railway Age/Railway Track & Structures Light Rail Conference held April 27-28 in Philadelphia, about 30 delegates toured portions of the SEPTA streetcar and light rail networks.

SEPTA proposes $1.4 billion operating budget; hires Director of Media Relations

The Southeastern Pennsylvania Transportation Authority (SEPTA) on March 28, 2016 released its proposed Fiscal Year 2017 Operating Budget and Fiscal Years 2018-2021 Financial Projections and announced that it will hold a series of public hearings on the spending plan throughout the five-county service region April 25-29.

SEPTA selects Richard G. Burnfield as Deputy GM

Regional Southeastern Pennsylvania Transportation Authority (SEPTA) Board Chairman Pasquale T. Deon, Sr. and SEPTA General Manager Jeffrey D. Knueppel, P.E., on Oct. 14, 2015 announced the promotion of Richard G. Burnfield to the position of Deputy General Manager. Burnfield will also continue to serve as the authority’s treasurer, a position he has held for the last seven years. He will report directly to Knueppel.

SEPTA GM Casey to retire

Southeastern Pennsylvania Transportation Authority (SEPTA) General Manager Joseph M. Casey, who has led the Authority since 2008, will retire effective Sept. 30, 2015, after 34 years of service.

SEPTA to acquire ACS-64 electric locomotives

The board of the Southeastern Pennsylvania Transportation Authority (SEPTA) has approved the acquisition of up to 18 ACS-64 electric locomotives from Siemens as part of its budget for the 2015-16 fiscal year, which starts July 1, 2015.
