Siemens expanding Sacramento footprint
Siemens Mobility announced on Feb. 1, 2016 that it is expanding its footprint in Sacramento,Calif., with a new 60,000-square-foot plant dedicated to its rail service, maintenance and repair operations.
Soussan replaces Wilder at Siemens Mobility
Siemens Mobility Division executive Sabrina Soussan has been named CEO of the division’s High Speed and Commuter Rail and Locomotive business units, reporting to Siemens Mobility Division CEO Jochen Eickholt.
Three states add to Siemens Charger orders
California, Illinois and Maryland have ordered a combined 34 Charger diesel-electric passenger locomotives from Siemens Mobility, bringing the number of state Departments of Transportation procuring these units to six and the total number of units to 69. The locomotives will be built at the Siemens rail manufacturing plant in Sacramento, Calif.
Denver, Twin Cities adding to Siemens LRV fleets
Denver’s Regional Transit District (RTD) and Metro Transit in the Twin Cities of Minneapolis-St. Paul have exercised options worth a combined $132.1 million for 34 additional Siemens light rail vehicles.

Siemens-refurbished LRVs start rolling in Sacramento
The Sacramento Regional Transit District (RTD) on Wednesday, Sept. 16, 2015 will begin operating the first set of light rail vehicles newly refurbished by Siemens on the recently opened Blue Line light rail extension to Cosumnes River College.
SEPTA to acquire ACS-64 electric locomotives
The board of the Southeastern Pennsylvania Transportation Authority (SEPTA) has approved the acquisition of up to 18 ACS-64 electric locomotives from Siemens as part of its budget for the 2015-16 fiscal year, which starts July 1, 2015.
Siemens lands $1.86 billion German contract

Siemens lands San Francisco LRV contract
San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency (SFMTA) has awarded Siemens a $648 million contract for 175 S200-SF light rail vehicles for its Muni transit system. With an option for an additional 85 cars, this is one of the largest LRV orders ever placed in the U.S.
