Genesee & Wyoming Inc.’s newest rail subsidiary, Rapid City, Pierre & Eastern Railroad, Inc. (RCP&E), began operations Sunday, June 1, 2014, as Canadian Pacific completed the sale of the line, the western stretch of the Dakota, Minnesota & Eastern.

OmniTRAX acquires Sand Springs Railway Co.

OmniTRAX announced Wednesday, May 28, 2014 that it is acquiring Sand Springs Railway Co., a 32-mile short line linking the railroad’s namesake Oklahoma city with Tulsa, Okla.

Search under way for new ASLRRA President

The American Short Line and Regional Railroad Association (ASLRRA) has selected Jason Ward, Managing Partner of Industrial Search Partners, to conduct the search for a new President. Current President Richard F. Timmons will be retiring at the end of this year.
