Senators introduce 45G tax credit measure
Eight U.S. Senators this week introduced the Short Line Railroad Rehabilitation and Investment Act of 2015, designed to extend Section 45G (26 USC 45G) short line track maintenance tax credits that expired in 2014, the American Short Line and Regional Railroad Association (ASLRRA) said Wednesday, March 4, 2015.
Railway Age names 2015 Short Line, Regional Railroads of the Year
Railway Age magazine has named Palmetto Railways the 2015 Short Line Railroad of the Year, and Reading & Northern Railroad its 2015 Regional Railroad of the Year. The awards will be presented at the American Short Line and Regional Railroad Association’s (ASLRRA) annual meeting in Orlando, Fla., Sunday, March 29, 2015.
Genesee & Wyoming to acquire Freightliner
Darien, Conn.-based Genesee & Wyoming announced Tuesday, Feb. 24, 2015, that it has agreed to acquire a 95% stake in Britain’s Freightliner Group from Arcapita and other shareholders for $755 million in cash.
