Senar is selected to develop a detailed design for Metrolinx’s Scarborough Subway Extension project in eastern Toronto. Also, two stations are dedicated on Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority’s (LACMTA) new Foothill Gold Line light rail segment; and Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers and Trainmen (BLET) members at Caltrain in Northern California ratify a new contract.

Sener Selected to Participate as ICE in Montreal REM

Engineering and technology group Sener has been selected to participate as the Independent Checker Engineer (ICE) on the new Montreal REM (Réseau Express Metropolitain), whose first segment between Brossard and Gare Centrale stations opened on July 31.

Transit: It’s Time to Vent

The CDC (Centers for Disease Control) has stated that airborne transmission of the coronavirus is more likely than transmission through surface contact. Adequate ventilation and air filtration of HVAC systems can reduce the likelihood of airborne exposure. Every transit agency wants to do everything it can to keep its ridership safe, healthy, and returning. The multi-trillion-dollar, pandemic-clouded question is, how?
