Come Feb. 1, 2018, the Railway Supply Institute (RSI) will have new leadership, as President Tom Simpson, who has spent nearly 30 years at the organization, retires. Mike O’Malley, a transportation policy expert and former Vice President, Procurement and Supply Chain Management with CSX, will succeed Simpson.

RSI numbers: 260, 756, 44, 281

The Railway Supply Institute (RSI) unveiled an analysis of the economic role its 260-plus member companies play in the U.S. economy during Railway Interchange 2017 in Indianapolis. The analysis shows that RSI members represent more than 756 rail supply locations in 44 states in 281 congressional districts.

Freight car market “better than expected”: KeyBanc

The Railway Supply Institute American Railway Car Institute’s (ARCI) second-quarter 2016 freight car order, delivery and backlog statistics are “somewhat better than expected,” according to KeyBanc Capital Markets analyst Steve Barger.

US associations present the ‘American Way’ at InnoTrans 2016

Four of the most important industrial associations in the USA—the Railway Engineering-Maintenance Suppliers Association (REMSA), the Railway Supply Institute (RSI), the Railway Systems Suppliers, Inc. (RSSI) and the American Railway Engineering and Maintenance-of-Way Association (AREMA)—are coming to InnoTrans in Berlin Sept. 20-23, 2016, in order to “present a concentrated display of their country’s economic strengths in the rail transport sector.”
