Railway Age announces 2013 Short Line Railroad and 2013 Regional Railroad of the Year

Railway Age magazine has named Gardendale Railroad, Inc. the 2013 Short Line Railroad of the Year, and Montana Rail Link its 2013 Regional Railroad of the Year. The awards will be presented at the American Short Line and Regional Railroad Association’s annual meeting in Atlanta, Ga., Tuesday, April 30, 2013.

Indiana Rail Road CEO honored with degree

Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology in Terre Haute, Ind., has conferred an honorary Doctor of Engineering degree upon Thomas G. Hoback, founder, president, and CEO of The Indiana Rail Road Co. Hoback receive the degree Saturday during the school’s 134th commencement ceremony.

Indiana Rail Road Company (INRD) President and Chief Executive Officer Tom Hoback accepted Railway Age’s 2012 “Regional Railroad of the Year” award at the American Short Line and Regional Railroad Association’s national convention in Indianapolis April 24.
