On Wednesday, April 6, 2016, at the morning general session during the ASLRRA Connections Convention, Railway Age will present its 2016 Short Line and Regional Railroads of the Year awards to the New Orleans & Gulf Coast Railway and the Central Maine & Quebec Railway, respectively.
Railway Age magazine has named Coos Bay Rail Link the 2014 Short Line Railroad of the Year, and Arkansas & Missouri Railroad Co. its 2014 Regional Railroad of the Year. The awards will be presented at the American Short Line and Regional Railroad Association’s annual meeting in San Diego, Calif., Friday, April 25, 2014.
Railway Age magazine has named Gardendale Railroad, Inc. the 2013 Short Line Railroad of the Year, and Montana Rail Link its 2013 Regional Railroad of the Year. The awards will be presented at the American Short Line and Regional Railroad Association’s annual meeting in Atlanta, Ga., Tuesday, April 30, 2013.
Indiana Rail Road Company (INRD) President and Chief Executive Officer Tom Hoback accepted Railway Age’s 2012 “Regional Railroad of the Year” award at the American Short Line and Regional Railroad Association’s national convention in Indianapolis April 24.

In Texas, “think big” is a maxim, even for the smaller things such as short line railroads. Blacklands Railroad, Railway Age’s 2011 Short Line Railroad of the Year, certainly qualifies.
