PA Approves $31.3MM Rail Infrastructure Investment

The Pennsylvania State Transportation Commission has approved distribution of $31.3 million for 26 freight rail improvement projects through the Rail Transportation Assistance Program (RTAP) and the Rail Freight Assistance Program (RFAP).

R.J. Corman Purchases 3 Short Lines, TranZ

R. J. Corman Railroad Group, LLC has finalized an agreement to acquire Owego & Harford Railway, Inc. (OHRY), Lehigh Railway, LLC (LRWY), and Luzerne & Susquehanna Railway Company (LS), as well as short line transload service provider TranZ.

R.J. Corman Awarded Contract for Texas Logistics Park

R. J. Corman Switching Company, LLC was awarded a contract to be the switching and transloading provider for the 137-acre multi-modal Hempstead Logistics Park owned by McAlister Assets and operated by RCR Rail Co. The Union Pacific-served logistics park is in Hempstead, Texas, approximately 50 miles northwest of Houston, Texas.

R.J. Corman Railroad Switching Company announced March 19 that it has begun operations for two new customers: New-Indy Containerboard, and a company described as “a market leader in the manufacturing of roofing granules [that] become part of roofing materials seen on millions of homes in the United States.”

R. J. Corman Switching Company, LLC was awarded work as the automotive loading provider at four of Toyota’s North American’s locations: Georgetown, Ky., Tupelo, Miss., Princeton, Ind., and San Antonio, Texas.
