OmniTRAX reactivates grain silo with West Plains LLC and Port of Brownsville

OmniTRAX, Inc., announced Dec. 14 that it worked with the Port of Brownsville to help facilitate the lease of a large grain-handling facility to West Plains LLC at the Port. The 3,000,000-bushel capacity grain elevator, which is located near the GEOTRAC Industrial Hub being developed by OmniTRAX, will create up to eight new jobs for the area.

OmniTRAX, Arrows Up form joint venture

OmniTRAX Sand Holdings LLC, an affiliate of OmniTRAX, Inc., is entering into a joint venture with Elk Grove Village, Ill.-based Arrows Up LLC, a provider of bulk storage and transportation services. Terms were not disclosed.

A managed affiliate of OmniTRAX, Inc. is purchasing the Heart of Texas Railroad (HTR) from private local investors. The transaction is subject to Surface Transportation Board approval. Terms were not disclosed.

OmniTRAX, ECIDA to develop hub served by CSX and NS

OmniTRAX, Inc., one of the largest privately held transportation services companies in North America and an affiliate of The Broe Group, and the Effingham County Industrial Development Authority (ECIDA) are developing a 2,700-acre tract near Rincon, Ga. The Savannah Gateway Industrial Hub, located 12 miles from the Port of Savannah and served by the CSX and Norfolk Southern railroads, is expected to attract manufacturers, processors, distributors and others.

GFRR deploys Railinc’s Interline Settlement System

The Georgia & Florida Railway, LLC (GFRR), an affiliate of OmniTRAX, Inc., “continues to make shipping by rail easy” with the implementation of Railinc’s Interline Settlement System (ISS) in partnership with Norfolk Southern, CSX Transportation and GE Transportation’s Digital Solutions business. ISS is the standard process in the rail industry to share revenue when two or more railroads handle a shipment. Additional OmniTRAX rail lines will convert to ISS in collaboration with the company’s Class I rail partners during the coming months.

OmniTrax selling HBRY, Port of Churchill

Denver, Colo.-based short line holding company OmniTrax is selling the Port of Churchill and Hudson Bay Railway Company (HBRY) to an unidentified group of northern Manitoba-based First Nations for an undisclosed sum.

Congresswoman Graham and staff tour Georgia & Florida Railway

On Sept. 15, 2015, Congresswoman Gwen Graham’s (D-FL-02), District Director Mary Lee Kiracofe and Economic Development Liaison Kent Watson toured the Georgia & Florida Railway (GFRR) in Perry, Fla. The GFRR is a network of approximately 264 miles of track commencing from its Albany, Ga. headquarters, and extending into northwestern Florida near the Gulf of Mexico. Throughout the entire line, connections are made along the way with other railroads in Florida and Georgia, including Class I’s Norfolk Southern and CSX. The GFRR is owned and managed by OmniTRAX Inc.
