Norfolk Southern on Friday, Aug. 9, 2013 disclosed the railroad’s business strategy for reducing greenhouse gas emissions and its environmental footprint in a filing with the international not-for-profit CDP, formerly known as the Carbon Disclosure Project.
The goal of capital expenditures is to link investments to the quality of the transportation product, generating increased customer satisfaction. Perhaps no railroad does it better than Norfolk Southern.
Norfolk Southern Corp. said its second-quarter net income of $465 million in the second quarter was 11% lower than the $524 million notched in the second quarter of 2012.
