UP, NCFO Reach Tentative Agreement

Union Pacific (UP) and the National Conference of Firemen & Oilers (NCFO) on March 19 announced a tentative agreement that covers a five-year term and includes wage increases, additional vacation time, health and welfare benefits, and minor work rule changes.

CN: Paid Sick Leave for IAMAW, NCFO, SMART-MD, IBB

CN is the fourth Class I to offer paid sick leave to U.S. craft railroaders. On March, it reported reaching an agreement with the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers (IAMAW); National Conference of Fireman and Oilers (NCFO); International Association of Sheet Metal, Air, Rail and Transportation Workers Mechanical Department (SMART-MD); and International Brotherhood of Boilermakers and Blacksmiths (IBB) in the U.S.

NS: Paid Sick Leave for BMWED, NCFO (UPDATED)

Norfolk Southern (NS) was the third Class I to offer paid sick leave to craft railroaders. On Feb. 22, it reported reaching an agreement with the Brotherhood of Maintenance of Way Employes Division-International Brotherhood of Teamsters (BMWED), and on Feb. 24, it added the National Conference of Firemen and Oilers (NCFO).

BNSF, TCU and NCFO Agreed to Paid Sick Leave

BNSF on Feb. 23 reported reaching agreements with the Transportation Communications Union (TCU) and the National Conference of Firemen and Oilers (NCFO) for paid sick leave. It is the fourth Class I to offer the benefit to craft railroaders.
