Amtrak extends Empire Service between Albany and New York City. Also, the Chicago Plan Commission adopts the Chicago Transit Authority’s (CTA) 95th Street Corridor Plan for equitable transit-oriented development (ETOD); and the Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority (MBTA) will issue a Request for Proposals (RFP) this fall for a new operator of its Commuter Rail system.

MBTA is adjusting commuter rail and bus service on April 19-20 for celebrations in Massachusetts marking the 250th anniversary of the start of the American Revolution. It provided the rendering above of special commuter railcar wraps.

BLET Ratifies New Contract With Keolis, Reaches Tentative Deal With Alstom

Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers and Trainmen (BLET) members have ratified a new contract with Keolis for Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority (MBTA) engineers. Additionally, the BLET has reached a tentative contract with Alstom for locomotive engineers who operate Maryland Area Rail Commuter (MARC) trains.
