After months of negotiations, the Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority (MBTA) and Boston Carmen’s Union Local 589 have agreed to a new collective bargaining agreement.
Pan Am Southern LLC (PAS, the joint venture of Pan Am Railways and Norfolk Southern) and Pan Am Railways (PAR) itself on Dec. 20 served default and dispute notices concerning “important operational safety agreements” with the Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority (MBTA) involving Positive Train Control (PTC).
The Fiscal and Management Control Board (FMCB) of the Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority (MBTA) voted Dec. 19 to amend the Ruggles Station Transportation Project contract with Vanasse Hangen Brustlin, Inc, (VHB) to expand the project’s design and accessibility improvements. A contract extension to December 31, 2019, was also granted as part of the amendment.
