United Steelworkers, CP strike five-year agreement

Canadian Pacific and the United Steelworkers (USW) Local 1976, which represents approximately 800 clerical and intermodal workers, have entered into a five-year agreement effective Jan. 1, 2013. The current contract was due to expire Dec. 31, 2012.

BNSF’s Lanigan to retire, railroad names three VPs

BNSF named Steve Bobb executive vice president and chief marketing officer, with responsibility for BNSF’s sales, marketing, customer service, economic development and business unit activities. He succeeds John Lanigan, who has decided to retire effective Jan. 15, 2013.
