NRC holds 2016 Rail Construction & Maintenance Equipment Auction

The National Railroad and Construction and Maintenance Association, Inc. (NRC) held its annual Railroad Construction and Maintenance Equipment Auction on Thursday, April 14, 2016 at the Blackmon Auctions facility in Little Rock, Ark. Thomas Blackmon, Jr. of Blackmon Auctions and his team ran the auction proceedings, which was a success with a total of 200 pieces of equipment sold for an NRC auction record $1.3 million to on-site and online bidders.

AGC honors Parsons for work on Houston Metro LRT

Parsons announced on April 14, 2016 that the Associated General Contractors of America (AGC) recently honored the corporation with the Alliant Build America Award in the civil construction management category for its work on the Houston Metro Light Rail Transit (LRT) system. The design-build project—the largest public works program in the city’s history—extended Metro’s 7.5-mile rail service by 15 miles with the addition of three new rail lines through downtown Houston, Tex.
