The January forecast for ITS Logistics’ U.S. Port/Rail Ramp Freight Index shows increased transpacific volumes on the U.S. West Coast due to seasonal Lunar New Year restock and geopolitical unrest, as well as the strong possibility of congestion at East Coast ports and at rail ramps throughout the U.S., the Nevada-based third-party logistics (3PL) firm reported Jan. 22.

ITS Logistics Issues November Port/Rail Ramp Index

The November forecast for the ITS Logistics U.S. Port/Rail Ramp Freight Index shows that all modes across all regions are at normal operations, but shippers and carriers should continue to closely follow “the choke points at the Suez and Panama canals as water conditions worsen and the current conflict between Israel and Gaza,” the Nevada-based third-party logistics (3PL) firm reported Nov. 13.

The Prince Rupert Port Authority (PRPA) begins construction on C$750 million Ridley Island Export Logistics Project (RIELP). Also, ITS Logistics releases its October forecast; and the Port of Long Beach (POLB) achieves its strongest September on record.

ITS Logistics has issued its September index on port container and dray operations for the Pacific, Atlantic and Gulf regions and on ocean and domestic container rail ramp operations for the West Inland and East Inland regions.
