Members of the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers (IAM) union at Alstom Transportation in Plattsburgh, N.Y., have voted to ratify their first-ever three-year collective bargaining agreement, “marking a major milestone for rail manufacturing workers in upstate New York.”
The National Carriers Conference Committee (NCCC) on May 1 reported the ratification of a national collective bargaining agreement with the International Association of Machinists (IAM), which represents approximately 4,900 freight rail members.
CSX machinists and roadway mechanics represented by the International Association of Machinists & Aerospace Workers (IAM) have ratified a five-year collective bargaining agreement, the Class I railroad reported March 3.
Alstom workers in Plattsburgh, N.Y., voted to join International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers (IAM). Also, California’s Caltrain will move its headquarters to Millbrae; and Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority (WMATA) unveils the newest design for its holiday wrapped train and buses.
CSX announced Feb. 1 that it has reached agreements with four additional groups of railroad workers to provide paid sick leave benefits. The unions include Sheet Metal, Air, Rail and Transportation Workers-Transportation
The International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW); International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers (IAM) District 19; and International Association of Sheet Metal, Air, Rail and Transportation Workers-Mechanical and Engineering Department (SMART-MD)
In a final effort to avoid a nationwide rail shutdown as early as Sept. 16, the National Mediation Board (NMB) has ordered railroad negotiators and the leadership of unions still at the bargaining table to return to Washington, D.C., Sept. 7 for an NMB-guided try at reaching tentative agreements on amending wage, benefits and work rules contracts.
CSX Corporation and two leading mechanical unions, the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers (IAM) and the International Association of Sheet Metal, Air, Rail and Transportation Workers (SMART), announced a landmark partnership on Sept. 28, 2015, “that will enhance benefits for CSX employees and further improve productivity.”
