IAM Alstom Members Ratify First Contract

Members of the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers (IAM) union at Alstom Transportation in Plattsburgh, N.Y., have voted to ratify their first-ever three-year collective bargaining agreement, “marking a major milestone for rail manufacturing workers in upstate New York.”

IAM Ratifies National Agreement With NCCC

The National Carriers Conference Committee (NCCC) on May 1 reported the ratification of a national collective bargaining agreement with the International Association of Machinists (IAM), which represents approximately 4,900 freight rail members.

CSX, Machinists Union Ratify Agreement

CSX machinists and roadway mechanics represented by the International Association of Machinists & Aerospace Workers (IAM) have ratified a five-year collective bargaining agreement, the Class I railroad reported March 3.

NMB Orders Labor Back to Washington

In a final effort to avoid a nationwide rail shutdown as early as Sept. 16, the National Mediation Board (NMB) has ordered railroad negotiators and the leadership of unions still at the bargaining table to return to Washington, D.C., Sept. 7 for an NMB-guided try at reaching tentative agreements on amending wage, benefits and work rules contracts.
