ASLRRA, Wabtec offer cloud PTC solution

The American Short Line and Regional Railroad Association has entered into an agreement with Wabtec Railway Electronics, Inc. to provide Positive Train Control (PTC) support to its members via the Wabtec Cloud Multi-Tenant Back Office (MTBO) solution.

Fuhrmann joins HDR in Minneapolis

Mark Fuhrmann, a 25-year veteran of Minneapolis’ Metropolitan Council, has joined HDR as a senior project manager based in the Minneapolis engineering office, with responsibility for projects in the Minnesota and Wisconsin region. His first assignment is serving as program manager for the Northern Indiana Commuter Transportation District West Lake and Double Track projects.

HDR’s Walsh chairs WTS board

HDR Vice President Maggie Walsh was recently appointed Chair of the WTS (Women’s Transportation Seminar) International Board of Directors. WTS, of which Walsh has been a member for 20 years, focuses on promoting equity and access for women in transportation careers. Her two-year term started in May.

HDR to plan Tacoma Dome light rail extension

Engineering firm HDR has announced it will plan the final extension needed for Central Puget Sound Regional Transit Authority (Sound Transit) to complete light rail service between Seattle and Tacoma, Wash.
