NJ Transit (NJT) President Kris Kolluri on Feb. 19 told the audience at the Southern New Jersey Development Council that he intends to see pre-construction this year on the proposed 18-mile-long Glassboro-Camden Line (GCL), according to multiple news reports.
South Jersey Transit Partners (SJTP) a joint venture of AECOM and STV Inc., has started work with the Glassboro-Camden Light (GCL) project team to design an 18-mile DLRT (diesel light rail transit) project that will restore passenger rail service between Glassboro and Camden, N.J. that has been absent since the 1950s.
The Glassboro-Camden Line (GCL) project team has selected infrastructure consulting firm South Jersey Transit Partners (SJTP), a joint venture of AECOM and STV Inc., to provide preliminary engineering and design (PED), project management and professional services for the pre-construction phase of the 18-mile NJ Transit diesel light rail transit (DLRT) line that will cross through Gloucester and Camden counties.
