CSX: Foote to Retire, Hinrichs to Take Throttle (UPDATED)

CSX on Sept. 15 reported that as “part of a planned succession process,” Joseph R. Hinrichs will become President and CEO, succeeding James M. Foote, effective Sept. 26.

The painted CSXT 4568 will travel across the railroad’s network to help raise awareness on rail safety.

Canadian Pacific (CP) has donated $124,000 to support heart health in Alberta through its Clear Rounds for Heart initiative. Labor Update: Avoid Misinformation Cesspool (UPDATED)

Increasingly likely on Sept. 16, or shortly thereafter, is a rail labor strike or management lockout creating a nationwide rail shutdown that almost certainly will elicit from Congress back-to-work legislation and third-party determination of wage, benefits and work rules amendments to end this almost 33-month-old round of collective bargaining.

RSI Logistics, Madison Railroad Partner on New Transload Facility

Rail logistics solution provider RSI Logistics, Inc., announced on Sept. 8 that it is partnering with Madison Railroad on a marketing campaign to promote the railroad’s new 22-acre rail-to-truck transload facility, which the railroad purchased in June and that RSI Logistics, Inc. will be operating.
