David Ragan, CSX set to Play It Safe at Indianapolis

CSX and Sprint Cup Series driver David Ragan will take to the famed Brickyard to remind fans to “Play It Safe” around railroad tracks. CSX is the primary sponsor of Ragan’s No. 34 Ford Fusion for the July 28 Samuel Deeds 400 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race at Indianapolis Motor Speedway, one of the premier events and venues in auto racing.

CSX 2Q earnings beat Street

CSX late Tuesday, July 16, 2013, reported second-quarter earnings of 52 cents per share, or $533 million, on revenue of $3.1 billion, up from earnings $512 million, or 49 cents per share, on revenue of $3.0 billion, in the second quarter of 2012.

CSX embarks on a July 4 track blitz

CSX m/w employees on July 1 kicked off an eight-day maintenance “jamboree” or “blitz” designed to complete work that would normally take 18 weeks under traffic. AAR confers environmental stewardship awards

The Association of American Railroads on May 15 presented Rick McNey, a CSX Transportation employee from Baltimore, Md., with the 2013 John H. Chafee Environmental Excellence Award, and U.S. Senator Bill Nelson (D-Fla.) with the 2013 John H. Chafee Congressional Environmental Award.
