New York MTA gets $193 million in Sandy aid

The Federal Transit Administration (FTA) and Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) are awarding New York’s Metropolitan Transportation Authority $193.1 million in Hurricane Sandy recovery funds, including initial reimbursement costs incurred by New York City Transit, Long Island Rail Road, and Metro-North Railroad during preparation for the storm.

NJ Transit equipment recovery work continues

Box tunnel pact presages Amtrak Gateway Tunnel

Wabtec Corp. said Tuesday record fourth-quarter earnings per diluted share of $1.34, 40% above EPS in the fourth quarter of 2011 and topping Wall Street analyst consensus estimates of $1.31. NJT begins new TVM rollout

New Jersey Transit has announced the post-pilot-program rollout of its new ticket vending machine (TVM) technology at Newark Penn Station, “kicking off a system-wide rollout that will provide smoother ticket purchase transactions for NJT customers at all 674 terminals system wide by the end of the year,” said Executive Director Jim Weinstein.

CN, AMT spar over Montreal locomotive use
