Transbay transit hub plan imperiled

Aggressive plans for San Francisco’s Transbay Transit Center, which include accommodations for improved Caltrain service and a terminus for California high speed rail, are in jeopardy as developers and city officials have reached an impasse.

Metra revamps bicycle policy

Chicagoland’s Metra announced Tuesday, Sept. 23, 2014 that it is revising its “Bikes on Trains” policy to replace bans during exceptionally busy periods with “warning dates,” in which bicycles will be allowed but owners will be cautioned that crowded conditions could prevent Metra from accommodating an initial or return trip.

Fed Sandy funds to aid NJT recovery plans

New Jersey Transit will receive $1.27 billion from the Federal Transit Administration for five projects designed to help NJT recover from damage caused by Superstorm Sandy in 2012, in part by being more prepared for future events.
