TCRC-Rail Canada Traffic Controllers ratify agreement with CP

The Teamsters Canada Rail Conference-Rail Canada Traffic Controllers (TCRC-RCTC) has ratified a labor agreement with Canadian Pacific Railway covering approximately 135 rail traffic controllers in Canada. The agreement was ratified with a record 94% of votes cast in favor.

Thales taps Huber+Suhner for NYCT work

Huber+Suhner said Wednesday, Sept. 3, 2014 it has been tapped by Thales to supply the latter company “with a range of trackside and on-board antennas and cables to support the CBTC (Communications Based Train Control) system of New York City Subway.”

TfL extends fare collection contract with Cubic

Transport for London (TfL) has awarded Cubic Corp.’s UK subsidiary Cubic Transportation Systems Ltd. a contract worth more than $700 million (U.S.) for the Electra ticketing and fare collection system. The contract is a continuation of the partnership between TfL and Cubic, which has seen the introduction and network-wide rollout of the Oyster contactless smartcard.

Cubic awarded WMATA SmarTrip® contract

The Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority (WMATA) has awarded an $8 million contract to Cubic Transportation Systems to convert its existing paper magnetic farecard vending machines to sales and reload devices for SmarTrip®, the contactless smartcard for the Washington Metro.
