BART awards $12.6 million revenue management system contract to Cubic

Cubic Transportation Systems (CTS), a business unit of Cubic Corporation, has been awarded a $12.6 million contract from the San Francisco Bay Area Rapid Transit District (BART) to update its revenue management system, the company announced Sept. 1, 2015. The state-of-good-repair project includes ticket vending machines, add fare machines, fare gates and parking validator devices to extend the equipment life while providing new payment functionality that can be used in the future, CTS says.

Bytemark, HaCon team up with Capital Metro on real-time trip planning

Bytemark, Inc., a pioneer in mobile commerce ticketing and integration for the mass transit industry, and HaCon, the leading European player for planning, scheduling and information solutions, announced August 31, 2015 that they have been awarded a contract to provide enhanced real-time trip planning for Capital Metropolitan Transportation Authority (Capital Metro), the regional public transportation provider in Central Texas.

Siemens, Thales land NYCT QBL West Phase 1 CBTC contracts

The New York Metropolitan Transportation Authority has awarded Siemens Industry Inc. and Thales Transport & Security two 67-month contracts worth a total of $205.8 million to install communications-based train control (CBTC) on a portion of the New York City Transit (NYCT) Queens Boulevard Line (QBL).
