ITS Logistics, a 3PL firm based in Reno, Nev., expands its Midwest operations. Also, the Port of Halifax in Canada marks a milestone in 2022, crossing the 600,000 TEU (twenty-foot equivalent unit) annual throughput threshold for the first time.

Thorold Multimodal Hub Grows Twofold

Bioveld Canada subsidiary The BMI Group, in partnership with HOPA Ports (Hamilton Oshawa Port Authority), has purchased a new, 170-acre industrial complex in Thorold, Ontario that adds 500,000 square feet of warehouse space and greenfield land to Thorold Multimodal Hub, effectively doubling its size.

CN, Canadian Pacific (CP), CSX and Union Pacific (UP) have been recognized as “sustainability leaders” through their inclusion in the 2022 Dow Jones Sustainability Indices (DJSI). Also, Norfolk Southern (NS) is awarding $1 million in grants to 57 nonprofits in the Hampton Roads region of Virginia.

CN Surpasses Grain Supply Chain Target Despite Extreme Cold Weather

CN on Dec. 19 reported that it surpassed its winter supply chain capacity target of 595,000 metric tons, moving a total of 620,000 metric tons of grain and processed grain products from western Canada during the week of Dec. 4 (week 19 of the 2022-23 crop year), despite extreme cold weather.

CN Secures Place on CDP ‘A List’

Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP) has named CN to its annual A List for the seventh time, placing the railroad in the CDP group of companies being recognized for “leadership in corporate transparency and performance on climate change.”
