HNTB Taps Deagostini, Fitzgerald to Advance CBTC Delivery

Julien Deagostini has joined HNTB as Senior Project Manager, and William Fitzgerald has joined as Technical Advisor, “strengthening the firm’s capabilities in planning, delivering and integrating communications-based train control (CBTC) for major rail operators.”

STM Awards Contract for Blue Line Extension Train Control System

The Société de transport de Montréal (STM) on Feb. 13 announced that its Blue Line Extension office has awarded a C$217,173,941 contract to Ground Transportation Systems Canada Inc. for the line’s new communications-based train control (CBTC) system. The contract includes installation, maintenance and certain options for the CBTC system.

Humatics, Siemens Partner on NYCT UWB

The New York Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA) has awarded $14 million, 15-month contract to a joint venture of Humatics and Siemens Mobility to develop an interoperable Ultra-Wideband (UWB) specification “enabling competition, expanding the UWB ecosystem, and building the foundation for UWB to be used in revenue service” on the MTA New York City Transit (NYCT) rapid transit system as it transitions to communications based train control (CBTC).

NYCT Kings Highway Interlocking upgrade awarded to L.K. Comstock

The New York Metropolitan Transportation Authority has awarded a $98 million contract to RailWorks Corp. subsidiary L.K. Comstock & Company Inc., to upgrade the MTA New York City Transit Kings Highway Interlocking plant on the Culver (F) Line/IND 6th Avenue Line in Brooklyn, N.Y.
