CP strengthens sales and marketing efforts

Canadian Pacific on June 7 said the railroad is now “at an inflection point” in terms of growing business and improving customer service, possessing “a willingness to identify and implement total transportation solutions.” The Sales and Marketing group “is generating new opportunities and driving growth.”

Canadian Pacific and K+S Potash Canada (KSPC) on May 2, officially opened the Bethune (Legacy) Project potash mine site, the first of its kind built in Saskatchewan in more than 40 years, and in terms of rail infrastructure, “the most significant engineering project undertaken by CP since the mid-1980s,” the railroad said.

Improvement seen on CP Q1 results

Canadian Pacific Railway announced revenues of $1.19 billion (C$1.6 billion) for the first quarter of 2017, an increase of 1% from the year-ago quarter, and earnings per share of $2.17, down from or $2.60.
