Industrial Development Briefs: CSX, NS, BNSF

The city of Winter Haven, Fla., lands a $1.5 million grant to extend rail access within the Central Florida Integrated Logistics Park, which is served by CSX. Also, Norfolk Southern (NS)-partner The Anderson-DuBose Company breaks ground on a Tennessee distribution facility; and BNSF welcomes to its network ALCIVIA, which recently completed major construction milestones at its new train shuttle loading facility in Hager City, Wis.

Rail Connect Partners Lands East Harbour Transit Hub Contract

The Ontario government has awarded the construction contract for the East Harbour Transit Hub in Toronto, an interchange station connecting to Metrolinx’s Lakeshore East and Stouffville GO commuter rail lines and providing access to the future Ontario Line subway and future Toronto Transit Commission streetcar extension.

CBRW Donates Line for Port Rail Service Restoration Project

With a three-mile rail line donation from Columbia Basin Railroad (CBRW), the Port of Moses Lake in eastern Washington state is advancing a project to boost rail capacity by constructing and rehabilitating approximately eight miles of rail corridor connecting the existing CBRW rail line in Wheeler to the Grant County International Airport (GCIA) and industrial land along the Wheeler Industrial Corridor.
