LRW Announces 2022-23 Board

The League of Railway Women (LRW) last month appointed its 2022-23 Board of Directors at the annual conference, which was held in conjunction with the Railway Supply Institute’s (RSI) 2022 Expo and Technical Conference in Fort Worth, Tex.

ASLRRA Members Honored for Top Safety Performance

The American Short Line and Regional Railroad Association (ASLRRA) presented President’s Safety Awards to 10 members at its Central and Pacific Region Meeting, held Oct. 25-27 in Milwaukee, Wis.

NTSB: Loose Debris from Mudslide Probable Cause of CSX Derailment

The National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) recently determined that the probable cause of a February 13, 2020, derailment of CSX Transportation (CSX) train K42911 on a railroad track that runs between a hillside and the Russel Fork River in Draffin, Ky., was loose mud, vegetation, sand, soil and rock from a mudslide that obstructed the track following excessive rain accumulation over several weeks.
