Alstom, Pitt Team on Mobility Career Development

Alstom and the University of Pittsburgh (Pitt) Swanson School of Engineering have signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) to build new research and student engagement programs on mobility and the technologies “that make transportation smarter, more sustainable and energy efficient.”

Tren Maya Opening December 2023

Mexico President Andrés Manuel López Obrador has reaffirmed his government’s commitment to complete the 1,550-km (961-mile), $10 billion Tren Maya (Tren Maya) project next year. “We are making progress in building Tren Maya, currently the largest railway project in the world,” López Obrador says. “We will finish the [project] in December 2023.”

Alstom Signs Ferromex Locomotive Maintenance Contract

Alstom announced on Sept. 22 that it has signed a contract renewal to “carry out preventive and corrective maintenance” on 186 locomotives of the Ferrocarril Mexicano (Ferromex) fleet for a period of five years, starting immediately.
