Double-digits for intermodal traffic

The Association of American Railroads said total U.S. rail traffic for the week ending October 7 was 554,826 carloads and intermodal units, up 6.3% compared with the same week in 2016. Traffic included 269,336 carloads, up 2%, while intermodal volume was 285,490 containers and trailers, up 10.8%.

Ore up 11.5% in weekly carloads

Intermodal traffic again outpaced overall rail freight for the week ending August 26 as imports flowed in for the retail holiday season, according to the Association of American Railroads.

Containers, trailers lead carload gains

The Association of American Railroads reported U.S. rail traffic for the week ending August 19 was 554,021 carloads and intermodal units, up 4.4% from the same week a year ago.
