WSP | Parsons Brinckerhoff adds executives in New Jersey, Michigan

Dennis Martin has been appointed vice president in Parsons’ Lawrenceville, N.J., office.
Martin serves as director of multimodal planning for the global engineering and professional services organization’s Northeast region, responsible for intermodal facilities, bus rapid transit, light rail and rail operations. He is currently a leader of Parsons’ planning work for the replacement of the Port Authority Bus Terminal in New York City.
Martin joined the firm in March after a 33-year career with NJ Transit. From 2015-16, he served as interim executive director, leading the successful negotiations for expired bus and rail labor contracts, and directed the development of the $3 billion fiscal 2017 capital and operating budgets. He most recently served as vice president and general manager, light rail & contract services, overseeing the operations and contract management of the agency’s Hudson-Bergen, Newark, and River Line light rail systems, and Access Link, the statewide paratransit system.
Parsons also announced that Greg Johnson has been appointed Michigan area manager.
Johnson, a vice president, is responsible for managing operations, establishing strong client relationships and maintaining a focus on business development and marketing for new and existing clients in the Detroit area and statewide.
Some of the firm’s projects in the area include design of the Rosa Parks Transit Center in downtown Detroit; construction management for the Detroit Windsor Tunnel ceiling slab replacement; owner’s representative for the 18-mile reconstruction of Interstate 75; on-call consultant for the Michigan Department of Transportation connected vehicle program; designer of the seven-mile rebuild of Interstate 96 known as the 96fix project, and owner’s engineer for the Detroit streetlights project.
Previously, Johnson was administrator of the Maryland State Highway Administration. From 1997-2015 he held a variety of senior positions with the MDOT, most recently serving as deputy director/chief engineer/chief operations officer, responsible for design, construction, materials and technology, maintenance, and operations.
