VanDeluyster retires from Nordco
Written by William C. Vantuono, Editor-in-ChiefAfter more than 38 years of service, Gary VanDeluyster, a well-known and highly respected member of the railroad maintenance-of-way community, has retired from Nordco Inc.
VanDeluyster started as a draftsman in the engineering department of what was then Nordberg in November1972. In 1975 he became a field service technician, a role in which he traveled to hundreds of railroad locations throughout the U.S., Canada and Mexico to troubleshoot and repair virtually every type of machinery Nordco produced over the years.
In 2001, VanDeluyster was named Nordco Service Manager. Over the past decade he has provided telephone and on-site technical support to Nordco customers, and supervised the company’s service technician, service school, and manufacturing test track groups. Throughout his career, VanDeluyster also provided training and technical support to hundreds of employees in the Nordco family of companies.
