UP’s Linda Brandl wins recognition

Written by William C. Vantuono, Editor-in-Chief

Union Pacific Railroad’s Linda Brandl, vice president-Automotive, is recognized in the 10th annual Women Worth Watching feature of the September/October edition of Profiles in Diversity Journal. Brandl developed and implemented market strategy and managed customer relationships for Union Pacific’s Automotive marketing team, which helped develop business that generated more than $1.2 billion in freight revenue in 2010.

“It is a tremendous honor to be recognized alongside so many accomplished women in leadership roles,” Brandl said. “From growing up on a cattle ranch to working at Union Pacific, I learned it takes a combination of hard work, a willingness to embrace change, and teamwork to be successful.”

Brandl began working at Union Pacific in 1988, most recently serving as vice president of the company’s national customer service center. She held management positions in the railroad’s premium operations group and marketing and sales organization, including training and quality. She served as president of Union Pacific Distribution Services and assistant vice president-Energy.
