Track Design Engineer – Lochner

The right candidate will determine the office location for this position.
Responsibilities
- Preparation of design documents for freight railroad track design including switches, inter-lockings, turnouts, sidings, track alignments, specifications, criteria, and details
- Assisting in preparation of proposals and contracts
- Project communications and documentation
- Satisfying client requirements and expectations
- Coordinating work efforts with others
- Reviewing work performed to maintain quality of the deliverables needed
Qualifications/Requirements
- Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering or equivalent
- PE license required in at least one state
- Demonstrated expertise in track design with an emphasis on railroad projects, passenger rail, and transit project experience a plus
- Knowledgeable with AREMA requirements (RTD Experience a plus)
- Knowledgeable with Railroad Standards and FRA Regulatory Requirements
- Experience working in a consulting firm or authority
- Experience with Microstation and/or AutoCadd
- Veteran of a Class 1 Railroad
- Actively participates in AREMA and one or more of the track committees (1 – Roadway & Ballast; 2 – Track Measuring Systems; 4 – Rail; 5 – Track; 14 – Yards & Terminals)
