Short line extends agreement with RailComm

Fairport, N.Y.-based RailComm said Wednesday the Lake Superior and Ishpeming Railroad Co. in Michigan has extended its maintenance and support agreement with RailComm for its computerized Centralized Traffic Control and Track Warrant Control System.

The DOC software-based control system is an advanced command, control, communications, and information (C3i) server-based platform that supports a wide variety of integrated solutions for indication, control, access, and distribution of critical operational data across the corporate enterprise.

RailComm offers maintenance and support agreements to all of its customers. 

Marequette, Mich.-based Lake Superior and Ishpeming Railroad is a Class III short line operating in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula, with iron ore transport its primary commodity. The short line is owned by the Cleveland-based Cliffs Natural Resources.
