Need
There is a need for a Senior Train Control Engineer to support the team for train control upgrades in the coming years.
Position Overview
Parsons is seeking an experienced Senior Train Control Engineer to perform engineering tasks on a Commuter and Transit heavy rail system. Responsibilities will include installation, trouble shooting, testing, test reports, review of PTC programs, tripper based and cab signal based train control systems. Responsible for the technical excellence of the Train control engineering function for these projects including coordination of technical disciplines, procurement of materials and equipment, and construction planning assistance.
Qualifications
- 4-year degree in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent related field experience)
- Minimum of 10+ years of related engineering experience
- Familiar with Automatic Train Control systems – working experience with AF based cab signal systems is required.
- Familiar with PTC design concepts and interfacing requirements in the field, as well as standards and specifications from the ITC committees of the AAR.
- Experienced in design package, test procedure, and test reports review.
- Experienced in installing and testing of Train Control systems.
- Detailed familiarity with FRA Rules, Standards and Instructions in CFR 49 – 234, 235 and 236.
Knowledge of railroading, signaling, communications, and other railroad technology is preferred.
