Written by William C. Vantuono, Editor-in-Chief

R. J. Corman Railpower says the Port of Corpus Christi Authority (POCCA) has purchased a repowered RP14BD GenSet locomotive, with delivery planned for late this summer.

rj_corman_railpower_logo.jpgPartially funded through the National Clean Diesel Funding Assistance Program’s Diesel Emissions Reduction Act (DERA), the RP14BD is designed to to reduce diesel fuel use and greenhouse gas emissions up to 45% and nitrogen oxides(NOx) and particulates by 80%-to-90%, R. J. Corman says.

“R. J. Corman Railpower appreciates this opportunity to bring our GenSet technology to a new customer, further reducing emissions in POCCA’s region. Due to the number of GenSets we have already delivered to customers in the state of Texas, we look forward to adding another South Texas partner to our growing fleet,” said R. J. Corman Railpower Vice President Dave Malay.
