TIGER grant to aid Vermont freight, Amtrak

An $8.9 million federal Transportation Investment Generating Economy Recovery (TIGER) grant awarded to the Vermont Agency of Transportation will expedite the Green Mountain State’s $18.5 million effort to rehabilitate 20 miles of rail right-of-way along the state’s western edge.

Maryland to fund Baltimore Red Line

Alaska Railroad seeks new president and CEO

The Alaska Railroad Corp. is looking for a new president and CEO and is accepting applications up until Sept. 27. The railroad’s seven-member board of directors says it’s seeking “a decisive leader with strong business experience in the transportation industry or an in-depth understanding of supply chain management. Experience working in the Alaska business community is preferred.”

Officials: KC streetcar to land TIGER grant

Kansas City’s initial streetcar effort will receive $20 million in additional federal funding once the next round of TIGER grants is officially announced, according to two U.S. congressional representatives from Missouri.

Motion Control momentum in Russia
