CSX Signalman, Boilermakers Ratify Five-Year Deals

CSX on April 30 reported securing the ratification of new five-year collective bargaining agreements with the Brotherhood of Railroad Signalmen (BRS) and the International Brotherhood of Boilermakers, Iron Ship Builders, Forgers & Helpers (IBB).

MTA: Ridership Up, Fare Evasion Down

Passenger Service Returning to New River Valley

The Virginia Passenger Rail Authority (VPRA), joined by Norfolk Southern (NS) and state and local leaders, on April 24 broke ground on the New River Valley Rail Project in Christiansburg, Va. The project is part of VPRA’s Transforming Rail in Virginia (TRV) initiative and encompasses railroad infrastructure that will allow the Authority to extend its Amtrak Virginia service from Roanoke to Christiansburg and return passenger rail service to the New River Valley for the first time since 1979.

NCCC, IBB Ratify National Agreement

The National Carriers Conference Committee (NCCC) on April 25 announced that members of the International Brotherhood of Boilermakers (IBB) have voted to ratify a national collective bargaining agreement, marking the eighth national agreement ratified in the 2025 bargaining round.
