Metrolinx orders 50 Bombardier BiLevel cars
Written by William C. Vantuono, Editor-in-ChiefGreater Toronto’s Metrolinx has turned to Bombardier Transportation for 50 BiLevel rail cars destined to serve GO Transit customers, valued at about US$128 million, Bombardier said Monday.
Bombardier’s Thunder Bay, Ontario, manufacturing facility will produce the cars, beginning this June. First deliveries are scheduled for November. This latest order from Metrolinx will include the 1,000th BiLevel car manufactured in Thunder Bay, Bombardier noted.
